New Jersey & New York

On cyber Monday, Sun Country had super reasonable flights to NYC.  Scott's brother had moved to NYC in September and we also have friends (Paul and Allison) living in New Jersey so we thought it would my spring break would be a perfect time to visit.  Paul and Allison have an 18 month year old daughter, Sarah, and I couldn't bear to leave Abby so she made the trip with us.  We were nervous about how everything would go, but she proved to be an excellent traveler.

We had a 7am flight so we landed at JFK Friday morning.  Paul was generous enough to come and pick us up at the airport and bring us back to their home in Mayhew, New Jersey.  We were exhausted from being up so early so we just hung out at their house and visited.  Abby loved playing with Sarah's toys.
She loved this piano so much we bought her one when we got home.

On Saturday, we went into New York City for brunch and to walk around Central Park.  It was over 50 degrees outside so it was a beautiful day to be in the park.  Jeff and Dave (another high school friend of Scott's) met us for brunch and the park.  They came back to New Jersey with us for dinner, too.

On Sunday, we went into the city again.  It was much colder out so we couldn't be outside for very long with Abby.  We decided to go and see the 911 Memorial because it wasn't finished the last time we were in NYC.  I'm not sure why, but we were surprised by the amount of security you had to go through.  It was like going through security at the airport.  Then, we walked a few blocks away to see Trinity Church.  It's so beautiful and the history behind it is very interesting.

We had a great time visiting the Ponath family and look forwarding to vacationing with them in Brainerd this summer!  We hope to see Jeff again soon, too.
